What ElonBuilt

A lot of people know the headlines and the memes. Fewer people know what SpaceX, Tesla, Neuralink, and The Boring Company actually do — and the real people they've actually helped. This site is a running profile of the companies, the achievements, and the impact.

So what did Elon Musk actually build?

  • Zip2 (1995): online maps and city guides for newspapers. The early years
  • X.com / PayPal (1999): one of the first online banks, which became PayPal.
  • SpaceX (2002): reusable rockets, Starship, and Starlink internet.
  • Tesla (2004): electric cars, batteries, solar, and the Optimus robot.
  • Neuralink (2016): brain implants helping paralyzed people use computers and speak.
  • The Boring Company (2016): the Vegas Loop, a working tunnel system under Las Vegas that has carried over 4 million riders (you can ride it for $4.25), and now a Hyperloop plan for Texas. How to ride it
  • xAI (2023): Grok and X, now part of SpaceX.
